Kurdish Prime Minister Masrour Barzani arrived in Washington DC on Saturday for meetings with US government officials and American business leaders, per a KRG statement. “The discussions will focus on strengthening the partnership between the Kurdistan Region and the United States, in particular in trade and investment”, the statement added. Mr Barzani is accompanied by the KRG Representative to the United States Treefa Aziz. The meetings come as the KRG attempts to balance strong relations with the US alongside a growing partnership with Russia and Iran.
