Rudaw – IHEC initiates preparations for Kurdistan Region elections: Spox

Iraq’s Independent High Elector Commission (IHEC) has begun preparations for the “long-overdue” parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region (KRI), Rudaw has reported. A date will be set imminently, pending a decree from the Regional presidency, according to the report. The elections, initially planned for October 2022, have been repeatedly postponed due to political and legal challenges.
