The National – Iraqi Kurdistan region to hold parliamentary election in June

President Nechirvan Barzani has announced that the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) will hold long-delayed parliamentary elections on June 10 2024. The elections were initially scheduled to be held in October 2022, but were delayed three times due to disagreements between the major ruling parties over election law and an Iraqi Supreme Court ruling which declared existing Kurdish election law unconstitutional.
