During a graduation ceremony at the American University of Kurdistan in Duhok, Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani stated that Kurdistan is advancing toward “economic independence” by focusing on non-oil sectors like banking, agriculture, and infrastructure. According to Prime Minister Barzani, technology is the key driver of progress, backed by investments in innovation hubs and partnerships between universities and the tech sector. He also claimed that new partnerships with US energy companies will serve as “engines of economic growth, investment, and innovation.”
