Kurdistan’s President Nechirvan Barzani met with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, with the two leaders said to have explored “opportunities for enhanced cooperation”, according to a readout from the Kurdish President’s office. The visit came following a meeting with Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey a few days earlier. The meetings come as the KRG attempts to balance strong relations with the US and its allies alongside a growing partnership with Russia and Iran.
