The i reports that “red flags” were raised among British government officials with regard to British Conservative Party Chairman Nadhim Zahawi’s family links to Sirwan Barzani. The investigation reveals that Zahawi’s personal connections to Barzani may have contributed to securing lucrative contracts in various industries, raising concerns about potential conflicts of interest. Barzani has faced accusations of “misappropriation” in a US court, which he denies. The investigation highlights at least $70 million in business connections between Zahawi’s father’s company, Iraq Projects and Business Development (IPBD), the Kurdish Government, and Sirwan Barzani.
