The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has announced plans to establish three Chinese-backed automobile manufacturing projects as part of efforts to diversify the economy, Kurdistan24 reports. The projects include one electric vehicle plant and two automotive assembly facilities, with the latter already approved and in the land allocation stage. According to a KRG official, the initiative reflects growing foreign investment, now totaling $11 billion across 54 projects, and rising demand for Chinese vehicles in the region.
