The New Arab – US court summons Iraqi Kurdistan PM Masrour Barzani over multiple charges

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has been summoned to the US District Court in relation to a civil court hearing filed against him and other members of the Barzani family. This action, for which Masrour has 21 days to respond, follows a lawsuit filed on January 30th by the Kurdistan Victims Fund, a non-profit foundation in the US. The article states that the charges against the defendants, which includes 14 clan members, relates to “atrocities, indiscriminate violence, arson, murder, attempted murder, genocide, abduction, hostage-taking, kidnapping, torture, collaboration with terrorist organizations, and financial crimes.”
