KRG President Nechirvan Barzani met with new US Consul General Gwendolyn Green in Erbil, calling for deeper US-Kurdistan cooperation. He expressed gratitude to outgoing US Consul General Steven Fagin for his efforts in strengthening ties and praised the US for its ongoing support. US Consul General Green described Kurdistan as a “key partner” for the US. Talks also covered Erbil-Baghdad relations and regional developments.
The meeting follows President Barzani’s meeting with an Iranian delegation in late July focused on enhancing bilateral ties and cross-border cooperation.
