Voice of America – Biden meets Iraqi PM amid escalating Mideast tensions

US President Joe Biden has hosted Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in Washington DC. Safeen Dizayee, the Head of KRG’s Department of Foreign Affairs, was also present for the visit, Rudaw reported. Biden called for “free, fair, and transparent regional elections in the IKR”, according to a White House readout. Kurdistan’s upcoming parliamentary elections remain in doubt following the ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) decision to boycott the vote.
